What the message means
SmartScreen can warn when a signed application is new or has limited download reputation. A reputation warning is not, by itself, a malware verdict. A separate Microsoft Defender malware or potentially unwanted application detection should be treated as a security alert and investigated before running the file.
Review a reputation warning
- Confirm that you downloaded the installer from aeternumit.com or the linked official GitHub release.
- Select More info in the SmartScreen dialog.
- Confirm the displayed publisher is Aeternum IT Solutions LLC.
- Verify the file signature or SHA-256 hash using the linked verification article.
- Continue only when the publisher and release details match the official record.
If Defender reports malware or a potentially unwanted app
Do not dismiss that detection as ordinary SmartScreen reputation. Stop, update Microsoft Defender security intelligence, scan the file again, and contact Aeternum Support with the exact detection name and installer version. Do not send your license key or account credentials.
